Bay Haven School to elect the President of Mr. McGregor's Garden

(SARASOTA, FL, March 18, 2005) - Supervisor of elections Kathy Dent announces today that kindergarten students at Bay Haven School will have an opportunity to experience firsthand the power of democracy on March 23 when they take part in an election to choose the president of Mr. McGregor’s Garden.

Candidates for election include Peter Rabbit, Jemima Puddleduck, and Benjamin Bunny. After a month of campaigns students will show identification and cast their ballots on the iVotronic touch screen voting machines provided by Supervisor of Elections Kathy Dent.

“It is important to start the education process early to help our youth become engaged in our political process,” said Ms. Dent. “Hopefully we will make them lifelong voters.”
