Registration Deadline Nears For City of Sarasota Municipal Election
(SARASOTA, FL, Jan 25, 2005) – The
City of Sarasota will conduct a municipal election on Tuesday, March
8. Residents of the City of Sarasota will be electing two (2) city commissioners
at-large. Only citizens who both reside in the City of Sarasota and
are registered to vote in Sarasota County by Monday, February 7, will
be eligible to vote in this election.
Supervisor of Elections, Kathy Dent, recommends that voters make sure
their voter registration information is current with her office. A voter
who has moved, changed name, or needs to update a signature since the
last election may call 861-8600 or write the Supervisor of Elections,
PO Box 4194, Sarasota, FL 34230-4194.
To apply to register to vote, a completed Florida Voter Registration
Application Form must be submitted by February 7. Florida Voter Registration
Application forms are available at Supervisor of Elections offices,
city halls, county libraries, county offices, social service agencies
and at many area banks, or by calling 861-8600. An application may also
