County Canvassing Board and Sealed absentee ballots received prior to 8:00 a.m., Friday, October 29, 2004, for the General and Special elections will be available for public inspection from 8:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. on Friday, October 29, 2004, at the office of the Supervisor of Elections, 2001 Adams Lane, Sarasota, Florida. The Sarasota County Canvassing Board will convene at 8:00 a.m., Friday, October 29, 2004, to canvass absentee ballots. Immediately thereafter, the canvassed absentee ballots will be opened and processed but not tabulated. Tabulation of all absentee ballots will not begin until after 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 2, 2004. The Board will reconvene on Saturday, October 30 at 9:00 a.m. and Sunday, October 31 at 9:00 a.m., if necessary. On Monday, November 1, 2004, sealed absentee ballots received between 8:00 a.m. Friday, October 29, and 8:00 a.m. , Monday, November 1, will be available for public inspection from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. The Sarasota County Canvassing Board will reconvene at 12:00 p.m., Monday, November 1, 2004, to canvass absentee ballots received from October 29 forward. Immediately thereafter, the canvassed absentee ballots will be opened and processed. On Election Day, November 2, 2004, sealed absentee ballots received on November 1 and November 2, 2004, will be available for public inspection from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The Sarasota County Canvassing Board will reconvene at 6:30 p.m. November 2 and will remain in session until the results of the election are obtained. Provisional ballots will be canvassed as received from polling locations. If the provisional ballot canvass is not completed, the Sarasota County Canvassing Board will reconvene at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 3, 2004, at the office of the Supervisor of Elections. The Canvassing Board will reconvene at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 12, 2004, to canvass the military and overseas ballots received from November 2, 2004 through Friday, November 12, 2004. In accordance with the Sunshine Law of Florida, all Canvassing Board meetings are open to the public. Note: §286.0105, Florida Statutes, states that
if a person decides to appeal any decision by a board, agency, or commission
with respect to any matter considered at a meeting or hearing, he or
she will need a record of the proceedings, and that, for such purpose,
he or she may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings
is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which
