Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections Action Alert

(SARASOTA, FL, September 17, 2004) – The registration deadline is approaching for the November 2 General and Special Elections. Residents must be registered in Sarasota County by Monday, October 4, to vote in these elections.

The November 2 ballot will include races for President of the United States, United States Senate, 13th Congressional District, State House Districts 69, 70, and 71, County Commission, Supreme Court, Appellate, Circuit, and County judicial offices, Hospital Board and eight (8) State Constitutional Amendments. Registered voters living in the City of Venice, City of North Port, and Englewood Water and Fire Districts may also vote on candidates and/or issues specific to their jurisdictions.

Supervisor of Elections, Kathy Dent, recommends that voters make sure their voter registration information is current with her office. A voter who has moved, changed name, or needs to update a signature since the last election may call or write the Supervisor of Elections, PO Box 4194, Sarasota, FL 34230-4194.

Florida Voter Registration Application forms are available at Supervisor of Elections offices, city halls, county libraries, county offices, social service agencies and at many area banks, or by calling 861-8600. An application may also be downloaded by logging onto www.srqelections.com.
