VACANCY IN OFFICE
NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION AND QUALIFYING DATES FOR OFFICE OF SARASOTA COUNTY
PUBLIC HOSPITAL BOARD AT LARGE SEAT 3

I, Kathy Dent, Supervisor of Elections, Sarasota County Florida, do hereby give notice that a vacancy exists in the Office of Sarasota County Hospital Board At Large Seat 3 caused by the death of Martin I. Moss. This vacancy shall be filled by a Republican Special Primary Election to be held on November 2, 2004.

Therefore pursuant to s. 100.111(4)(a), Florida Statutes, the dates for receiving qualifying papers and qualifying fees from the candidates for the Office of Sarasota County Hospital Board At Large Seat 3, will be from 8:00 a.m., September 23 through noon, September 24, 2004.

Further, candidates qualifying by the petition method shall receive petitions from the Office of the Supervisor of Elections after filing the Alternative Method Affidavit. Five Hundred Seventy Eight (578) valid petition signatures of registered electors of Sarasota County must be submitted to the Office of the Supervisor of Elections, no later than 5:00 p.m., September 20, 2004.

In lieu of qualifying by the petitions method, Republican Candidates may pay a qualifying fee of $25.00.

Additionally, campaign treasurers’ reports shall be due at the same time as reports for all other candidates for the 2004 Elections starting with the report due October 1, 2004.
