County supervisor of elections offers early voting
(SARASOTA, Fl, July 26, 2004) – Early
voting for the August 31 Primary and Sarasota County Special Charter
Referendum elections will begin August 16 and continue through August
30, Supervisor of Elections Kathy Dent announced today.
Eligible voters will have the opportunity to avoid expected long lines
at their polling places on election day by voting early on touch screen
voting machines in one of the SOE’s three offices in Sarasota
(Terrace Bldg, 2001 Adams Lane); Venice (R.L. Anderson Administration
Bldg, 4000 Tamiami Trail South), and North Port (Biscayne Plaza,13640
Tamiami Trail).
Ms Dent encourages voters to cast their ballots Monday through Friday,
8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. in the Sarasota and Venice SOE offices, and from 8
a.m.-5 p.m. in the North Port office. The North Port office is closed
weekdays from 12-1 p.m. All three offices will be open for early voting
on Saturday, August 21 and Saturday, August 28 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
