Public invited to logic and accuracy testing of voting equipment

(SARASOTA, FL, Feb 4, 2004) - Supervisor of Elections Kathy Dent invites the public to attend logic and accuracy testing of the county’s voting and tabulating equipment to be used for in-office voting for the March 9, 2004 Presidential Preference Primary, the Town of Longboat Key General Election and the Englewood Area Fire Control District Special Election.

The testing is scheduled for Monday, February 9, 7:15 a.m., at the office of the Supervisor of Elections, 101 South Washington Boulevard, Sarasota.

Logic and accuracy testing is performed prior to every election on a random sample of all the voting machines that will be fielded on election day to ensure that they are recording accurately.
