Sarasota County to Honor Election Workers

Sarasota, FL, Nov 7, 2003 - Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections Kathy Dent will host more than 700 of the county’s poll workers at two separate poll worker appreciation receptions this month.

The first, scheduled for Monday, November 10 at Robarts Arena in Sarasota will honor approximately 400 poll workers, while approximately 300 are expected to attend the second, at the Venice Community Center in Venice on Wednesday, November 12. Both receptions will run from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Invitations were sent to all 1,800 poll workers employed by the county.

The annual poll worker appreciation events are staged to thank and to honor the hundreds of citizens who do such a wonderful job of serving Sarasota County’s 227,000 voters on election days.
