Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections Offering In-Office Absentee Voting

(SARASOTA, FL, February 4, 2004) – Supervisor of Elections Kathy Dent announced that beginning on February 10th, voters can cast in-person absentee ballots in the Democratic Presidential Preference Primary, the Town of Longboat Key and the Englewood Area Fire Control District Referendum elections.

Touch-screen machines for early voting are available in the three Supervisor of Elections offices: the downtown Sarasota office, 2001 Adams Lane; the Venice office, 4000 Tamiami Trail South; and the North Port office, 13640 Tamiami Trail (Biscayne Plaza).

Voters are encouraged to cast their ballots Monday through Friday, 8:30am through 5:00pm. The North Port office is closed for lunch from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. All three offices will be open for in-office absentee voting on Saturday, March 6th from 9:00am to 1:00pm.

Only Sarasota County voters registered in the Democratic Party and voters registered in the Town of Longboat Key and the Englewood Area Fire Control District are eligible to vote in this election. If voters have any questions, please contact the Supervisor of Elections office at 861-8600.
