Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections Announces the
Countdown to 2004 Elections Has Begun

(Sarasota, FL, Sept. 22, 2003) – Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections, Kathy Dent, has started an active recruitment for poll workers for the 2004 elections.

“There will be three county wide elections in 2004 and all of our precincts will be staffed by exceedingly well-trained individuals. Sarasota County is known for its professional, experienced poll workers and we are committed to continuing that tradition. 2004 elections are expected to have a very high voter turnout and we plan to deliver very high quality service to our voters, as usual”, said Ms. Dent.

Requirements for being selected to work at the polls are:

1) You must be a resident of Sarasota County
2) You must be a registered voter
3) You must be at least 17 years of age and pre-registered.

Each polling place has an Election Team which includes a Clerk, a Deputy, Register Inspectors, Activator Inspectors, System Specialists and a Demonstrator Inspector. Each team member has a specific role on election day.
