Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections to sell punch-card
voting machines
(SARASOTA, FL, May 23, 2002) – Kathy Dent, Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections, announces that her office will conduct a public sale to dispose of Sarasota’s punch-card voting booths and accessories. Voting booths used in the 2000 Presidential election, posters, pages, chads, “I Voted 2000” stickers, and other miscellaneous supplies related to the punch-card voting system will be for sale on a first come first serve basis.
Punch-card voting booths will be priced at $25.00 each. Other items will be offered at nominal prices. The sale will be held for two days at the Sarasota County Facilities Maintenance Building, 4730 17th Street, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Flag Day, Friday, June 14 and from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 15. Parking will be available next door at 17th Street Park, East entrance near the soccer field. Items may be purchased by using a check or cash. No credit cards will be accepted.
