(SARASOTA,
FL, Feb 4, 2002) – The
Sarasota County School District will
hold a special election on Tuesday, March 19. Residents of Sarasota County will
vote for or against the proposed Sarasota
County School District millage
increase. Only citizens residing in Sarasota County and registered to vote in
Sarasota County by Tuesday,
February 19 will
be eligible to vote in this election.
Supervisor
of Elections Kathy Dent recommends that voters verify their registration status.
To participate in this election, voters who have moved since the last election
must update their residence address with the Supervisor of Elections office. All
address changes must be submitted in writing to the Supervisor of Elections,
P.O. BOX 4194, Sarasota, FL 34230-4194.
Residents
not registered to vote in Sarasota County have until February 19 to submit a
completed Florida Voter Registration Application Form. These forms are available
at Supervisor of Elections offices, city halls, county libraries, county
offices, and many area banks.
