Public invited to inspect sealed absentee ballots for the March 13, 2007, elections

Supervisor of Elections Kathy Dent invites the public to inspect sealed absentee ballots received for the March 13, 2007, elections on March 12, 2007, from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. On election day, Tuesday March 13, 2007, sealed absentee ballots will be available for public inspection from 11:00 a.m. until noon at the office of the supervisor of elections. Sealed absentee ballots received in the afternoon until 7:00 p.m. on election day will be available for inspection until opened.

The Sarasota County Canvassing Board will meet at noon on Monday, March 12, 2007, at the office of the supervisor of elections, 2001 Adams Lane to conduct the initial canvass of absentee ballots. The Canvassing Board will reconvene to canvass absentee ballots on election day, March 13, 2007, at 5:30 p.m. The Board will reconvene on Friday, March 16, 2007, at 4:00 p.m. to canvass provisional ballots and will remain in session until the results of the election are certified.
