Sarasota County supervisor of elections offers early voting

( SARASOTA , FL , August 16, 2006 ) Early voting for the September 5, 2006 , Primary and the City of North Port Primary elections will begin Monday, August 21, 2006 , and continue through Sunday, September 3, 2006 , Supervisor of Elections Kathy Dent announced today.

Eligible voters may vote early at any one of the three SOE offices in Sarasota (Terrace Bldg, 2001 Adams Lane ), Venice (R.L. Anderson Administration Bldg, 4000 Tamiami Trail South), and North Port ( Biscayne Plaza , 13640 Tamiami Trail). Early voting sites will also be at North County Library ( 2801 Newtown Blvd. ), Fruitville Library ( 100 Coburn Road ), Gulf Gate Library ( 7112 Curtiss Ave ), and North Port City Hall ( 4970 City Hall Blvd. ).

Early voting hours at all locations will be 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturdays, August 26 and September 2, and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sundays, August 27 and September 3.

Florida Law requires voters to present photo and signature ID in order to vote at the polls. If you appear at the polls without current and valid ID, you will be required to vote a provisional ballot.
