Elections supervisor urges employers to support voter registration efforts

(SARASOTA, FL, Feb 9, 2006) - Supervisor of Elections Kathy Dent invites and encourages Sarasota businesses to get involved in the statewide Get out the Vote 2006 campaign by providing their employees with the opportunity to register and update their voter registration records in the workplace.

"We want to make voter registration as accessible as possible for all Sarasota residents wherever they are, and to ensure that people will be able to cast their votes in the very important 2006 elections," Ms. Dent said.

The Florida State Association of Supervisors of Elections in cooperation with the Florida Secretary of State have proclaimed March "Register at Work Month," as part of the statewide campaign which includes efforts to raise voter awareness, increase voter registration and recruit the very best people to work at the polls on election day.
