Be a Poll Worker

The Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections employs more than 1200 workers at the polls on election day. Each polling place has an election team, which includes a clerk, a systems specialist, a deputy, and several inspectors.

To be a poll worker one must:

1) be a resident of Sarasota County
2) be a registered voter
3) be at least 16 years of age and pre-registered to vote.
4) read and speak English

Poll workers must attend training prior to each election and are paid $150 to $250, depending on the position assigned, for training and working at the polls.

If you’d like to serve your community and get more involved in the electoral process, please attend a poll worker orientation. For a schedule of orientation classes, click here.
